Outer Critics Circle, the organization of writers and commentators for media covering New York theatre announced today its award winners for the 2014-15 season in 24 categories.

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time received five awards including Outstanding New Broadway Play, Outstanding Director of a Play, (Marianne Elliott), Outstanding Set Design (Bunny Christie), Outstanding Lighting Design (Paule Constable), Alex Sharp (Outstanding Actor in a Play).

An American in Paris won four including named Outstanding New Broadway Musical, with Christopher Wheeldon winning for Outstanding Director of a Musical and Outstanding Choreographer and an acting win for Outstanding Actor in a Musical.

The King and I and Hamilton each received three awards. The King and I garnered three awards including Outstanding Revival of a Musical, Ruthie Ann Miles (Outstanding Featured Actress in a Musical) and Outstanding Costume Design (Catherine Zuber). Hamilton adds to its awards tally with Outstanding New Off-Broadway Musical, Outstanding Book of a Musical and Outstanding Score. Between Riverside and Crazy was named Outstanding New Off-Broadway Play.

Congrats to all of the winners listed below.

Broadway’s Michael Cerveris, Nick Cordero, Raúl Esparza, Katie Finneran, Montego Glover, William Ivey Long and Jefferson Mays will serve as gala award presenters at the upcoming 65th Annual Outer Critics Circle Awards ceremony on May 21st (4PM) at the legendary Sardis Restaurant. In addition to being acclaimed stage performers, the stars are also former recipients of the esteemed Outer Critics Circle Award.

Celebrating its 65th season of bestowing awards of excellence in the field of theatre, the Outer Critics Circle, is an association with members affiliated with more than ninety newspapers, magazines, web sites, radio and television stations, and theatre publications in America and abroad.

Lia has appeared in the films Wolf, New Jack City, A Kiss Before Dying, King of New York, Big Trouble in Little China, The Last Dragon and Taxman. She has guest starred on “One Life to Live,” “As the World Turns,” and “New York Undercover.” Lia starred as Carole Barbara in Lorey Hayes’ Power Play at the National Black Theatre Festival in Winston-Salem, N.C., with Pauletta Pearson Washington and Roscoe Orman. She is profiled in Jade Magazine.
