Richard Thomas, Tyne Daly, Jason Danieley, Jill Paice and More Set for Transport Group’s A MAN OF NO IMPORTANCE Concert on Dec. 5

Richard Thomas (“The Americans,” You Can’t Take it With You), Tyne Daly (Master Class, Mothers and Sons, It Shoulda Been You, Rabbit Hole), Jason Danieley (The Visit, Chicago), Hannah Elless (Bright Star, Godspell), and Marc Kudisch (Hand to God, Finding Neverland) lead the cast of the Drama Desk and OBIE-winning Transport Group’s concert of A Man of No Importance, on Monday, December 5 at 8pm at the Irene Diamond Stage at the Pershing Square Signature Center, 480 West 42nd Street.

The concert will also feature D.C. Anderson (Queen of the Mist, Titanic), Catherine Campbell (Nine, Footloose), Tim Dolan (Once Upon a a Mattress, Altar Boys) James Hindman (Mary Poppins, First Lady Suite), Joseph Kolinski (Follies, Les Miserables), Heather MacRae (I Remember Mama, A Catered Affair), Jill Paice (An American in Paris, Matilda), Tally Sessions (Falsettos, School of Rock), and Cheryl Stern (La Cage Aux Folles, Shoes and Baggage).

Transport Group celebrates a work by Terrence McNally (book) and Lynn Ahrens & Stephen Flaherty (score), the artists behind Ragtime, Master Class, Once On This Island, and this season’s Anastasia, coming to Broadway this spring. A Man of No Importance is the story of an Irish-Catholic bus driver struggling to accept a secret he’s kept hidden his whole life, and finding the power to do so through the words of Oscar Wilde. A Man of No Importance premiered at Lincoln Center Theater in 2002 starring Roger Rees, Stephen Pasquale, and Faith Prince. Jack Cummings III will direct the concert, which features a talkback with the three original creators following the performance.

Transport Group’s 2016-17 season will be Picnic and Come Back, Little Sheba: William Inge in Repertory Thursday, February 23-Sunday, April 23. Lia Chang is an actor, a multi-media content producer and co-founder of Bev’s Girl Films, making films that foster inclusion and diversity on both sides of the camera. Bev’s Girl Films’ debut short film, Hide and Seek was a top ten film in the Asian American Film Lab’s 2015 72 Hour Shootout Filmmaking Competition, and she received a Best Actress nomination. BGF collaborates with and produces multi-media content for artists, actors, designers, theatrical productions, composers,  musicians and corporations. Lia is also an internationally published and exhibited photographer, a multi-platform journalist, and a publicist. Lia has appeared in the films Wolf, New Jack City, A Kiss Before Dying, King of New York, Big Trouble in Little China, The Last Dragon, Taxman and Hide and Seek. She is profiled in Jade Magazine and Playbill.com.
