Maberry Theatricals (Devlin Elliott and Tom Kirdahy) are thrilled to announce that Emmy Award winning actor Richard Thomas (“The Waltons,” You Can’t Take It With You) will perform the final show of the critically-acclaimed engagement of WHITE RABBIT RED RABBIT, by Nassim Soleimanpour, on Monday, December 19, 2016, at the Westside Theatre, 407 W. 43rd St in New York. The limited engagement, New York Premiere of WHITE RABBIT RED RABBIT began performances on March 7.

Best known for playing John-Boy Walton in “The Waltons” which earned him an Emmy Award as well as two Golden Globe nominations, Thomas has enjoyed a storied career in television, film and theater. After making his Broadway debut at the age of seven in Sunrise at Campobello, he went on to star in over 10 Broadway shows including You Can’t Take It with You, An Enemy of the People, Race, Fifth of July, The Front Page, Democracy and more. No rehearsal. No director. No set. No spoilers. A different performer each night is handed the script for the first time as they step onto the stage. Forbidden to leave his country, young Iranian playwright Nassim Soleimanpour found a way for his voice to get out when he physically could not. This wildly entertaining and thought-provoking theatrical piece – where no audience can see the same show twice – blends drama, comedy and social experiment, providing audiences with a potent reminder of the transformative power of theatre.

The rotating cast, each performing only one time ever, featured such award-winning performers as: Nathan Lane, Whoopi Goldberg, Alan Cumming, Cynthia Nixon, Martin Short, Bobby Cannavale, Darren Criss, Wayne Brady, Patrick Wilson, Kyra Sedgwick, David Hyde Pierce, Brian Dennehy, Stana Katic, George Takei, Tony Danza, Justin Bartha, Mike Birbiglia, Rachel Dratch, Kathy Najimy, F. Murray Abraham, Josh Radnor, Ramin Karimloo, Billy Porter, Michael Urie,Reg E. Cathey, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Joyce DiDonato, Mozhan Marno, Joe Pantoliano, Robin Lord Taylor, Mo Rocca, Alex Brightman, Nancy Travis and Brian Stokes Mitchell, and Micah Stock. James Roday (USA Networks’ “Psych”) will perform on December 12.

The production fully recouped its capitalization costs after only 24 performances, and a portion of the play’s profits will be donated to PEN International, the world’s leading association of writers working to promote literature and defend freedom of expression around the world.

Producers Devlin Elliott and Tom Kirdahy remarked, “We are thrilled to have introduced White Rabbit Red Rabbit to New York audiences, and are gratified that white and red rabbits are now hopping in productions all over the world.”

WHITE RABBIT RED RABBIT had its world premiere in 2011 at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, winning the Arches Brick Award, followed by presentations at Summerworks and Dublin Fringe Festival where it was awarded “Outstanding New Performance” and “Best New Performance” respectively. The play has since been translated into fifteen different languages and performed over 300 times worldwide – from London to Oslo, Athens, Berlin, Melbourne and Singapore – by such stars as Michael Shannon, John Hurt, Stephen Fry, Stephen Rea, Sinead Cusack, David Morse and more. WHITE RABBIT RED RABBIT is produced in association with Aurora Nova Productions and Boat Rocker Entertainment.
